Merry Christmas, Pat - doing the same thing, waiting for the kids and getting hungry.  I have to agree with you 100@ about the Ford LTDII as a patrol car.  Worst car I ever had!  One of my "best nights" was when I hammered out the Ford - and got the chief deputy's unmarked Plymouth.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I'm sitting here, waiting fror my kids & grandkids to show up, and I'm posting a random thought, cuz the heading says "talk about anything & everything", so here goes.

During my career with the IL state police, (1969-1993) I had 11 cruisers:

'68 Olds Delmont 88 (455 engine 4bbl., duals, bias ply tires, drum brakes (she go, but she no stop!)
'70 Olds Delta 88
'71 Chrysler Newport, 440, Torqueflite                '80 Dodge St. Regis, the most comfortable cruiser I ever drove
                                                                     '83 Dodge Diplomat
                                                                     '88 Chevy Caprice

Of all those cars, the Diplomats consistently took a lickin' and kept on tickin', day in and day out. You could not kill them.
'71 Plymouth Fury II 440
'73 Dodge Monaco                                                 Pat O'Connor
'75 Plymouth Gran Fury
'77 Dodge Monaco
'79 Ford LTDII, 351, 2bbl., terrible excuse for a cruiser.
