I often imagined that if one were to fly over various auto boneyards in a light plane, one could tell the approximate age of the vehicles by the colors; I would think that most of the '30s vehicles would be "primary" colors: brown, tan dark blue, maroon, black, green), while a '50s junkyard would sport vehicles in two or 3 tone brighter colors (pink, yellow, turquoise, etc.), although I did read a long time ago that Ford painted some cars in brighter "Easter" colors (I believe in 1936, maybe other years) as a sales tool.

Thanks mvair, this site really tells me a lot about what colors go together for the year models, to include the trim stripes. Thanks, not many choices for the 29 model thou. lol
haven't looked it over very well yet, but it looks good.

Thanks Gary, I will try that one, I'll let you know what happens, or post a picture as soon as I get it done.
Thanks

Glen try the 33 Plymouth site done by Tod Fitch. For your paint colors try www.ply33.com/models/Q/index.html#paint, or you can start with the home of www.33ply.com.

He has a great resource for all kinds of good information about early Plymouths.

I am looking for paint ideas and the proper look a person should have on the 28-29 Coupe... With color options and the colors that would go together. Is there any web sites that show pictures of the early 4 cyl coupes, or books  or magazines?
