Indian summer in Rheinland...

Always wondered which tribes originated in the Rhine Valley.  I had read avout the Vandals, Angles, Lombards, Burgundians and Goths, as being there but refered to as Indo Germanic not "Indians"  But any sunny, warm day in the fall is great to enjoy.

Finest Weather this whole week, I had to adjust some electrical bugs, hide a  new MP3 Radio  and finished 2 pm this sunday.
My lovely wife Claudia suggested a round ride to Schlo? Burg (=castle), some 25 mls in the mountains from here.
Here, the land is flat left hand side from  River Rhine until northern sea, right side begins to be mountanious after 10 mls.  
All secondary roads, we joined the crowd there after a traffic jam for the last mile, but luckily enough parking places.  
Sunny and 63 deg F (=19 deg C) made us drive ragtop down into the prussian indian summer.

 Schlo? Burg is from 1100, but had been widely destroyed ~ 1650 , the remaining walls, fortifications and towers had been completed to a 70 % new complex, romanticising, around 1900.

 Beautiful museums included, good coffe plus waffles with hot cheries + whipped cream made a perfect day. We saw ~ 25 other Oldtimer cars in the 2 hrs drive and a million of motor bikes.

Only foto chance because of heavy traffic was this one, with fading light. While leaving the parking in a steep grade, I cried to Claudia to board some yards upward. Makes a silly face -  I swear, I?m looking more relaxed usually....
