PA Fuel Filter

Thanks, but that doesn't really answer my question. I have the bowl, and the bail that holds it on. I was wondering if there is supposed to be a screen or filter element inside the glass bowl.

Same parts book lists a "Screen, Upper" (AC #854009) and "Screen, Lower" (AC #854015) for 30-U after the break in serial number, PA, PB, PC, PD, PE and PF. (Actually I don't see PB listed for the lower screen.) I only recall one screen, located at the top of the sediment bowl, on my 1933 PD.

According to the United Motor Service section of the 1928-33 Master Parts book the 30-U (after serial number 151757) and the PA used AC part number 855471 for the complete pump. The illustration shows a glass sediment bowl.

The "Bail, Gas Strainer" is AC part number 854016 was used on the 30-U (after serial number 151757), PA, PB, PC, PD, PE and PF.

The "Bowl, Gas Strainer" is AC part number 854004 for those same cars.

Is there supposed to be a filter in the glass sediment bowl on the fuel pump for a PA?
