While we were out that day with the Plymouth, the engine developed a knock, so we dropped the oiil pan, checked the inards.  I had a cracked wrist pin in #4 piston, so we removed the head, took the connecting rod and piston out, as we were taking the wrist pin out, it feel in pieces, along with the inside collar of the piston. I was very lucky that the inside of the cylinder wall wasn't scored.  I ordered a new piston, rings and bushing for that cylinder, along with another head gasket from EGGE, installed everytining, and now the old girl is back on the road again.  Needless to say I am very pleased :)

At it again today, lots of sunshine, temp in the upper 40's so my wife, Cooper and I put some miles on the Plymouth

Since we had temps in the middle 30's the roads kinda dry, I gave into temptation and Cooper and I put roughly ten miles on the old Plymouth this afternoon.

Hope everyone is having as good a day as the Coupe dog and I are having,

We had a white Christmas here in southwest Missouri.......and the 6 or 8 inches of snow hung around for a couple
weeks.  Except for some piles from snow removal, it's been gone for a while.  Have had a few small flurries, but
nothing resembling what other parts of the country have been getting.  Just cold.....in the 20s and 30s.

Don has tougher feet than I do.......haven't had the urge to stand in the white stuff barefoot.

Hay Don,

Nice picture set.  I wish that would happen here.  Atlanta got 4 or 5 inches this weekend and I don't thing the city owns a plow.  It should be gone by Monday or Tuesday.

Vancouver is slated for 50 degree weather all week, go figure.

I am not so sure, we just had 30 inches of snow here over the weekend and expecting another 10 to 20 inches by tomorrow evening.

Pictures are from Saturday:

Chet;
Sorry you got hammered with all the snow. We had a big blizzard last year. But by the time I finished my coffee it was gone.

Bill,

Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, hope she enjoyed the flowers.

No top down weather here in the Catskills today, although the sun is shining, temp about 30 degrees and very windy.

I guess I could rub it in, that being the joy of living in So Cal and having some of the best topless, (convertible top down) weather in the world.... Ah shucks, why not rub it in. It is true we are having one of the wettest winters in years, however, so long as you don't live in the hills that are subject to mud slides, the rain is good. I have several flowers blooming in my yard, several of which I picked this morning to set on the table where my wife sits to drink her morning coffee...... Today is our 54th anniversary....Bill

There are times when living in the south is GOOD!  :o

Last weekend I drove the old 54 to the drive in and then for a 30 mile tour of the countryside! (How sweet it is)  ;D

Chet,

Thanks for posting the photos from last weeks snow storm, we may get upwards of a foot tomorrow, but that won't amount to much compared to you guys in the Mid Atlantic.  You have gotten much more snow than we have so far this winter

We had a nice day on Jan 23rd so I fired up the old Plymouth and put a few miles on her.  That was the last time she has been out due to snow and white roads due to salt.  We had more snow yesterday, so the poor old thing will be tucked in the garage longer than I would liike.

Just wanted to share, hope everyone is having a good day,
Bob

Bob-

I really like the photo of the interior of your '40, with your shotgun rider, Cooper. It makes me wish I still had my '47.

I got an email from a good freind of mine in PA yesterday, he had his Plymouth out, so today since the sun is shining I fired up the old Plymouth and Cooper and I went for a ride.  This photo isn't the best because of the morning sun, but you all will get the idea of how high up we were.

Thanks to yesterdays email, my winter is that much shorter now that I was able to put a few miles on the Plymouth along with my faithful Co-pilot, Cooper
