Ujoint boots

P.S. If anyone has the factory style leather boots with the separate grease seal cone piece, I'd like to buy them from you and/or pay to have duplicates made. They look like a lot better design than the lace up ones that are available nowadays.

The lace type after market boots are not the same as the ones the factory wanted, so the factory instructions don't really match up. However it does seem that you want the wire very tight into the leather to hold in on the lip of the universal housing and on the driveshaft.

I have a new leather ujoint boot that I want to install, but being that I have never replaced one and there are no directions, I think I may need help.

I have attached a photo of the boots showing them as I think they would go on the drive shaft.  The photo shows what I think is the inside of the boots with the leather flap at each end.  Once they are laced together on the driveshaft with the flap laced on each end, am I correct that the wires are twisted together at each end to help keep the boots together?
