Tranny Question

Bob and I communicated on this this AM.  Unfortunately, I sold on of my trans, and want to keep the remaining one as insurance.

I hope some one can help him out.

Up to 56 will fit.  Speedometer drive is on the drivers side, postwar. The cable is easily rerouted. However, the 40 trans has the most desirable ratios, with a noticeably taller second gear.

Bob, I have a couple of spare transmissions one feom a 48 Dodge ad one from a 56 plymouth.  Both turn freely and engage all gears, both were from running driving cars.  The dodge has the longer fluid drive input shaft but is otherwise the same as Plymouth.  I am located in central NY, so shipping might be a concern.  Let me know if you are interested.

My '40 P-10 Business coupe has a '41 engine in it.  The cast iron ear on the driver's side of the tranny is broken off.  If I can't get repaired, what year trannies will bolt up to the engine?
