41 brake switch wiring question

Hi notdavidspade,
Yes there are small hairpin clips that hold the connector to the switch terminals; I may have spares if you are interested.

If you could lose something in a garage that nice, there's no hope for me ever finding anything in mine.

While fooling with the wires, I was suspecting that I was missing a clip of some sort.? Its been too long since I've taken it appart to remember if I've save some clips or not.? I've thought about making or buying a replacement clip to get through this mishap.? Its obvious to me that I need to do a deep clean of the garage.? ?I misplaced my oil gauge hard line, had to make another one, and then promptly found the original one.? On the plus side, my replacement line closely mimiced the old line, right down to the double flare on the soft line side and the compression fitting on the gauge side.? Guess I'm getting the hang of this old car stuff after all.

Steve,
If I remember correctly, there should be a small wire spring clip that fits in the slot on the side of the terminal post on the switch that holds the bullet end of the wire in place. If you had to, you could replace the switch with one that has screw terminals (available at most any parts store) and replace the bullet ends of the wires with eyelet terminals.

I'm in the process of installing my wiring harness and have run into a snafu with the brake switch. The wire connectors do not seem to snap into the switch terminals. This is the only area I've had this problem. I had no problems snapping the connectors into the headlight switch or the connectors for the other parts of the harness. To confuse matter even more, the old wire doesn't snap in either. Have I lost a clip of some sort while cleaning everything? Thanks in advance for your help.
