Which is #1 cylinder

Front most (by radiator) is #1.

Firing order is 153624 and I am pretty certain #1 cylinder is the one closest to the radiator.

Sorry for the elementary question, but the manual I have for my 37 P4 does not identify which cylinder is #1. My Ford background tells me #1 cylinder is the closest to the radiator, but other readings imply that it may be the closest to the radiator.

Is #1 nearest the radiator or the firewall on my P4 engine?
