I purchased a repro serial  Plate and sent it to my sign man to make... I'm thinking of having more made and selling them...  You have to prep them before u install them ( they need trimed to fit otherwise they do not go on good)  DANiel

Here is the finished Product ... I hope you like it ... As you can see you can see the original Serial numbers and more importantly the original rivets.. Happy Ply-mouthing....DANiel

Just finished the restoration on the Serial Number Plate .. I went with a clear  mylar decal. ( As recommended by Mr. B ) The first Picture show why I wanted to restore the Plate.. The second one shows the original plate cleaned by using brake clean and alcohol..  I also used a hair dryer to warm up the plate next post show the completed instalation...

My 1940 Plymouth had a total repaint... The Original Door Post Serial Number was left on and was covered with masking tape... When the tape came off so did most of the paint ... I have a re pro Serial Number Plate .. but not sure which direction to take ... I have heard one should not put a re pro Serial Plate on the DMV (dept of Motor Vehicles) Could give a hard time ... The other choice is make a clear mylar or water decal for it... My ? is which is the better way  to go... How would a Judge grading the car a t a POC meet feel about this.. Has any one tried to decal them.. So should I put  the re pro and make new numbers on or decal  the original ?... Thanks for your thoughts ...Happy PLY-mouthing ...DANiel
