Nice pictures, with a great day & scenery to go with it all.   I went by the storage facility yesterday to get out the snow blower and peeked at my 29 resting under the car cover.

Thanks for posting the photos.  I guess I honestly don't know what I was expecting for the landscape of NZ, but the photos show an area that could be right here in the Catskills of New York.

Keep on posting photos of your cruises, as I sure do enjoy seeing the old Plymouths in other parts of the world.

All up we drove for 4 hours and covered about 170 miles.  A really nice cruise in beautiful country on a perfect day with a bunch of fellow 'old car' enthusiasts.

Today was the Annual Vintage car run for the Ashburton branch of the Vintage car club here in NZ.? Friends from Ashburton, who also have a ( Chrysler badged ) '37 Plymouth convertible, asked us to come along too.
Being such a beautiful day here, (clear skies and around 90 degrees in the shade) Lynne and I packed lunch, threw a couple of beach chairs in the back of the '37 and headed off to Ashburton ( about 50 miles south of Christchurch, where we live).
Around 80 vintage cars turned up at the Ashburton Vintage car club by 10am.? After the opportunity for a quick cup of coffee, the route instructions were handed out, and cars despatched at approx 30 second intervals.? Before leaving we all had to perform field tests involving a couple of general knowledge questions and a couple of car parking tests.? We were also asked to guess our average speed for the day.? And of course our exact start times and check point times were collected by the officials to allow a 'winner' for the day to be established later.
The outbound route took us across the Canterbury plains (along straight country roads with very little traffic) for about an hour, and then into the foot hills of the ranges where the roads become undulating and a more windy.? We ended up at a park, at Lake Coleridge, a Hydro dam village, where we parked up amongst the trees in the park grounds for a picnic lunch.? The return trip was organised to cover a different route and to culminate at the Club rooms for a sit down meal, and prize giving.? Unfortunately we had other commitments so retunred directly to Christchurch mid afternoon.

Lynne took a couple of photos as we drove along, and I got a couple more after lunch, before we headed home.
