Was talking with Tom Langdon today.  While he has T-5 Trannys ready to go and has a kit for Dodge trucks, he too recomends Paul for the auto conversion kit.  Tom said it appears to be a great unit especially for adapting the world class T-5 trannys.

Here's some info (minus photos from Paul's site:

This is the S-10 to Mopar Flathead Kit #6000S10
Here?s the kit to install the popular Borg Warner T5 overdrive transmission behind the Mopar flathead motors. The 5/8? thick aluminum adapter plate is blanchard ground and CNC?d to accurately mate the S-10 version of the T5 to the stock Mopar clutch housing. A precision oilite pilot bushing and a clutch disc with a special reversed offset hub is part of the kit.

What else will I need to make it work?
You are to supply your own clutch throw-out bearing and sleeve (collar). The stock Mopar clutch throw-out bearing and sleeve can be used by honing out the sleeve to match the S-10 bearing retainer. Or, the retainer could be turned down to mate to the sleeve.
An alternative would be to press a sleeve over the stock S-10 bearing retainer and machine to accept a 1994-2001 Cherokee throw-out bearing assembly. This will also mate to the later stock clutch fork.
Another alternative is to use a Ford bearing retainer, which will accept the 1994-2001 Cherokee throw-out bearing assembly. The mounting flange on the Ford retainer needs to be turned down slightly to match the S-10 for piloting into the adapter plate.

Are there other components I need to change?
Yes, obviously, you will need to rebuild your driveshaft to include the new S10 yoke and you will need to relocate the emergency brake. Depending upon the year and model there may also be some rear engine mount concerns.

Most S-10 transmissions built before 1989 will have the mechanical speedometer drive. The S-10 repositions the shift lever about 11? back from an original floor shift. This is the most forward position of all the T5s built.

Can I use my Mustang T5 behind the flathead?
Yes! Another adapter is now available with the Ford bolt pattern.
The Mustang has several advantages: The input shaft on many ?94-?95 models is ?? longer eliminating the need for the special clutch disc; the Ford bearing retainer accepts a ?94-?01 Cherokee throwout bearing and collar. And this collar assembly mates to the majority of the stock Mopar clutch forks. Its narrow bolt pattern gives better motor mount clearances. And it?s the World Class design! Ford has been World Class since ?85...GM after ?92.

Interesting...Chevettes and the ?93-?95 Camaros and Firebirds used the FORD case!

Which T5 should I use?
Before starting this project it is recommended that you become familiar with the B-W T5 transmission. There are many sites that cover the history of this design and give good information on its flexibility, available gear ratios and applications. You should also confer with a T5 specialist such as Tom Langdon in Utica, MI (586-739-9601) when you are ready to buy.

What is the cost of these kits?
The S-10 kit is $295.00. Postage inside the USA is $17.00, check or money order. Price is good until 6/1/08.
The Mustang kit pricing is incomplete at this time.

Contact Tom Langdon at Stovebolt engine company.  He sells an adaptor kit and can give excellent advice on which t5 to use depending on your rear end ratio, driving style and budget.  He helped me install a t5 in my 1937 Dodge MC and it works perfectly.

Check 1935plymouth.com. he has the adapter kit. He has a '31 that I believe he is  (or has done) putting the trans in. Paul can probably answer any questions for you. I believe his number is on the site (also email address).
We will be remembered by the tracks we leave behind.

Has anyone done the T-5 Trans install on a "32?  Is anyone providing an adaptor/conversion kit as available on the '36PJ? I'd like to replace my cast iron 3 speed with a T-5 from either an S10 or a Mustang. 32 Cabrio
