While we're on the subject of "change service requested" - this may be a good spot to open some people's eyes.  Every Plymouth Bulletin is mailed with the Change Service Requested printed on the mailing cover.  EVERY issue that we mail out, we get back about 25 - 35 magazines from the postal service.  If there is a new address, they print out a yellow label and return the magazine to the club with that address on it.  Each magazine returned costs the club nearly $2 in postage.  But at least we get an address so we can make sure the next issue goes to the proper address.

The problem comes with the "TEMPORARILY AWAY" sticker.  This is a magazine returned by the postal service because, as the label states, the member is "temporarily away" from his home address.  But we don't get any address to forward the magazine to.  Again, when this magazine is returned, the club has to pay nearly $2 to get the magazine back.  At that point, we simply have no choice but to suspend that members subscription.  We can't afford to continue mailing magazines to a vacant address.

This past issue, over 25 members of the club have been suspended for lack of a mailing address.  They will not be restored until they write, wondering where their magazine is.

The Plymouth Bulletin is mailed as "Media Mail"  (the old second class postage) and is NOT forwarded by the postal service.  If you move, even if its only for a few months in the winter or summer, you must let us know your current address.  We will replace the issues missed for a fee.  If you can't tell us where you've gone, we won't take the responsibility of sending you a "free" replacement--we've already paid postage twice for your magazine.......

Go,

That phrase is for the post office (postal service).  That means that if you have changed
your mailing address, the post office is supposed to forward the mail to your new
address at no additional cost.  The post office has that new address because when you moved,
you filled out a change of address form and gave it to them.  This phrase used to be "Address
Correction Requested", but the post office reworded it.
