1940 Plymouth Throttle Linkage Pics

It looks like your linkage is all there except for the hand throttle cable and as near as I can tell, it should result in a pull on the throttle lever at the carb.

I have a 40 Business Coupe (P9). I'm a little confused as to whether I have all of the required throttle linkage.  My problem is that the carb linkage seems to require a pushing or clockwise motion to accelerate the car, and the linkage seems to only want to pull thus moving the carb linkage in a counterclockwise motion. My questions are: 1). Am I correct that the carb requires a pushing motion to accelerate the car; 2) If so is this a linkage adjustment problem only, or 3) am I missing some component that will change the motion to the required pushing or clockwise motion at the carb. 

Pics are appreciated, from the pedal the the carb is preferable if they are available.
I've included some pics of what my type of linkage looks like unfortunately these are pics that I've acquired on the web and I'm not able to find any that show the complete setup.




By the way.  I only rediscovered this forum today after a lengthy and unfortunate hiatus away from the forum.  To my surprise, a brake question that I had asked over a year ago had an answer that has likely solved my problem.  I only wish I had checked back to find the answer sooner.  The POC is a great resource.
