Chris, Jim B mentioned in his posting that there are two (2) styles of wind wings for the '40 Plym conv.s. His information is correct.
Some people think the '37-39 DPCD open cars used the same wind wing as the '40, THEY DID NOT!!! The early '40 DPCD's, up through body number 1401 used a "long tail" bracket with the lower screws close together. All DPCD's after body number 1401 have a "long tail" bracket with the bolts spaced 3-3/8" apart.
I have been gathering information on the wind wing brackets for an article I am writing for the POC Bulletin. My research seems to indicate that the body numbering for the DPCD convertibles was consecutive because the basic body for all DPCD's, regardless if it is a Plym or a Chrysler is the same.

Jay Fisher does not have any more brackets for the '37-41 cars, I purchased the last set he had. I do have a new set of unfinished brackets, they are bronze in lieu of pot metal. I will sell them, however, they are very pricey.... Moores in Rapid City does not have any.

Jay Fisher, founder of the Plymouth Owners Club, was remaking these.  Price was not cheap.  Be aware, there are different wings depending on the "age" of the car - not just the actual model year but when it was built during the model run.  Wm. Thanks Bob. I appreciate the info. I was referring to the wing vent windows. I recall hearing that the original brackets for these wing vent windows are made of pot metal.

I am not sure what you mean by wing window brackets, but if you are looking for the wing window frames, I would give Moores a call in Rapid City,SD at 605-348-4926 as they have a very large selection of Old Plymouths

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my posting. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a place that sells new wing window brackets for a 1940 P-10 Deluxe Plymouth Convertible? My Dad owns a 1940 Plymouth convertible, but it is not restored. In 1989 he bought the body shell that had been laying out in a pasture deterioriating. Luckily the convertible body had the trunk cover, vacuum cylinder pumps, and all of the mechanism for rag top. Over the years we got the car pieced together from 3 'doner' 40-41 Plymouth sedans and coupes. The only major thing, other than the jump seats, that he is missing is the wing window brackets. Some day I hope to help my dad restore this Plymouth. Supposedly, many years ago there might have been a place in Canada that was selling these rare brackets? Thanks again. Chris
