Im hurting for money and I kick myself in the ass for not taking a a few people up on the offers to sell the hood ornament(got offers from $750-$1900 for it).

Im redoing my flathead 6 engine and I cant take money out of my house fund....would I be stupid selling it???? I need advice.

It is a interesting hood ornament but if it were mine and someone offered $1900. I would have sell it in a minute  and at that price I would throw in the hood

XmikeyX-

This is not advice, just an observation on how times have changed. This observation is not adjusted for inflation.

I did some figuring, starting with my first car in high school (1962), a '47 Plymouth. I was on my 7th or 8th car before I paid $1900 (for the entire car).

I was able to buy my second '36 Plymouth because the owner needed money, and I have sold cars before because I needed money. So I think I know where you're coming from.

To me, $1900 is a lot of money for a hood ornament, but I think that only you can decide if it's the right move to sell or keep it.

You will miss that ornament severely once sold. It is part of Your car. It will  more value than the ornament?s price. I would stop the engine rebuilding and let all sit,  until funds come in from other sources than cannibalising my car. Good luck! Go
