That's a neat idea, I'm in the Ford Retractable Club also and they put out a nice one every year with members cars. I think the membership count is around 1200. I think a little write up about the car & owners would be real nice., Just my 2 cents, Wayne in FL., 1950 P-20

I correspnded with the gent from England when he bought that car.  Some people just are "joiners".....as for the calendar - too bad this posting wasn't up earlier.  We had a board meeting conference call tonight and it could have been brought up then.  There are several clubs that do calendars.  DeSoto and Chrysler Australia clubs do them every year and the Mitchell Club is doing on this year as well.  Might be an idea to consider.....

On a business trip I had the pleasure of meeting a Plymouth owner in London England.? No he is not a POC member but none the less a Plymouth owner.? He purchased this car from a California car dealer and at great expense had it sent over to London England.

Why,?? What?s his story,? What makes this car special.? I think possibility a good story and candidate for the Calendar.? ?



Not to mention the lads in Canada and South America and down under.

Just a thought.

I think that?s a great idea.!!!? My spin on the publication would not be limited to pristine trailer queens but quality pictures of real member rides.? ? Each month would picture both car and driver.? ?Entrees could be evaluated not only on looks but on the interesting stories that drive these folks to treasure these vehicles year after year.? ?What they mean to their families and lives would be something that every vintage Plymouth owner could appreciate.

It would also be a great way to bring Plymouth Owners together outside of the formal car show meets and possibility get people together who are just Plymouth Lovers and not necessarily Plymouths owners that have the cash to be best of show.?

I would like to go on record and volunteer my time for this effort.? And Pat.., Thanks for the idea?

PS? I would drop the chronology and go for any year that was best is story.

This is what retired folks do; they sit around and think up projects for other people to implement.

Anyway.....there's lots of car themed calendars out there; some are freebies from your favorite auto parts store, and some you buy at the mall (unless you're a tightwad like me).

Most of these calendars have at least one Model A Ford and one '57 Chevy on them (both good cars, but, come on, there's other deserving cars out there.

I was just thinking, maybe, as a fundraiser, POC could have an all-Plymouth car calendar (I'd buy two of them).? Possibly, they could be sold through the club store. I have ideas for the first three years (2009, 2010, 2011), if this ever came to be. I haven't thought this out beyond 2011; possibly owners of newer Plymouths would rather have a mix of new and old, rather than a "theme" (chronological) calendar.

2009 could feature the 4 cylinder Plymouths (POC members cars, of course); 2010 could feature the flathead 6 era (1933-59, or 1960 if you include trucks), and 2011 could feature the V-8 era (1955-1986). I realize there's an overlap in years between the beginning of the V-8's and the end of the flatheads.

This is quite possibly a pipe dream, thought up on a cold, damp day in December. I live in a village of 278 people; 20 miles from any population center, so I'm not in much of a position to make this happen, but wouldn't it be cool....
