1939 Plymouth Parts

Im located in California, and opted to follow William's suggestion and ordered a tank from his suggested source. Should get it in less than a week now. Thanks for your help. Gary

I can tell you from experience, most of the original gas tanks you will find for the '39 Plym's will be junk.
There is a company called "Tanks" located in Clearwater, MN (320-558-6882) that makes a replacement fuel tank for the '39 Plym's.
The tank is a poly tank, ie: made from ABS plastic..... you will never have to worry about rust etc.
I used one of their tanks in my '39 Plym, it fit perfectly. Of course if you are building a potential 100 point show car the after market thank won't work.
I have seen NOS tanks for the 37/39 Plyms on ebay go for as high as $500., which I thought was a little crazy....Bill

I am looking for a replacement gas tank for my 1939 P 8. Anyone have one available to sell? Also, are gas tanks from other years interchangeable with this model?Gary

You need to be a little more specific about just what parts you are looking for. As Tod said, mechanical parts are not that hard to come up with. Good body parts, fenders, bright trim, accessories , etc. can be very difficult to find.
I have parted out two '39 Plym's, both 4dr sdn's. I have a large stock of body parts, bright trim, a couple of radio's, wheels, bumpers, tail/head lights... etc., ect.
Moores in Rapid City, SD has a large stock of rust free '39 Plym 4dr's. I was there the middle of last month..... If you call them... tell Russ that I suggested that you contact them....Bill

What kind of parts? Many of the engine/mechanical parts can actually be gotten through your better local auto supply. Body and trim are usually a lot tougher.

Does anyone know where to buy parts for a 1939 Plymouth in the southern states?
