With the weight of the car resting on the lower control arm, there is no load on the upper control arm including the camber adjustmemt (outer bushing). This is an eccentric which is locked in place by a bolt. When this bolt is removed, the bushing can be unscrewed from its threaded pivot.  It is unique to 39 and 40.

Hi..I just wanted to post again,in hopes that someone might know if I need to remove the springs to remove /replace the upper outer bushings-I understand they are unique to the '39 year.It doesn't look like they are loaded,-that I would have to get them removed-
Has anyone removed these before??? is it just a matter of unscrewing these bushings???any info would be appreciated. and as always I am very appreciative!!Thanks, Dennis
