Go, the breaker cam lobs will be the same for just about all 6 cylinder engines. 6 goes into 360 degrees only 1 way,  they need to be 60 degrees apart. just as all the highpoints on an 8 cylinder are 45 degrees apart.

I have seen a couple fellows who have adapted a slant 6 distributer with chrysler's early electronic ignition after they converted to 12 volts. basically changing the drive and attachment to the flathead stuff.

Ken, could well be. As for this: maybe it fitted well, but could the cams are in the wrong places??

GO,
I am referring to a Motors Auto Repair Manual that goes back to 1935.? All of the Plymouth Distributors from 1935 to 1950 are Auto-Lite and begin with 1SG.? Then have a four digit number, 4xxx.? I do not see any 111A-12 listed for any of Chrysler, De Soto, Packard, Dodge or Plymouth.? Do you think that maybe this was just for Europe export?

Thank You David and 46!
The unit?s drive shaft and collar both fit, once the fixingplate is ready I will change it to Pertronix and keep the original IAT ready for easy change.
Thanks! Yours Go

As long as you have the proper cap, rotor and points, and the drive tang is the right lenght, it should interchange.   I believe the advance curves are slightly different between the series but probably not enough to be noticeable.

IGS is 1950 or earlier,  P23 used IAT and as you have noticed the points are mirror image.

Dear all, got a nice distributor stamped IG S 111 A 12 +    or IC S 111 A 12 x. No manufacturer specified, no tag.
cap and rotor are "early" style.
Innards are mirror inverted to my "late" one, the steel holder fixing plate too must have different sectors (I need to have to be laser cut one).
Please, is this a P 20 or earlier assembly?

Thanks and Greetings! Go
