Dear Martin, beeing in france when You wrote lasttime, I missed Your question.

No, I didn?t come back to Argentiona since 1978, no chance to come again for as long as 'I can see.

Berlin is 350 mls / 560 km from D?sseldorf, so no chance to meet there as long as I have to work.

If You happen to come to the west here (D?sseldorf K?ln, Bonn, Essen, Dortmund, Aachen) we could arrange a meet if it fits.

if I looked well, the simply waved rubber mat is what I got recently produced from endless roll. I used it for the back seat floor coming bare.
My family had been in Buenos Aires from 1972 to 1978, mky father beeing the diirector of the german school Collegio Goethe. I, than studying in Germany, was there a couple of months every year. Liked it very much. We drove one "importado" Peugeot 504, not the one I still have. I assisted a friend, dental surgeon there, to one very currageos and than new surgical operation in the hospital aleman. Learned a lot!

This picture shows the original design running board mouldings. The outer edge is larger and covers the complete edge. The ends and the back are just narrow moulding that cover just the rubber cover. These were new in 1997 and still look like new. Call L & L Auto Trim and they can tell you the right size for your car. I think the sedans and touring car were longer than the coupe. Now I know what you call them in english. The way we call it in spanish is estribos, which a literal translation would be stirrups, because you step on the stirrup to get on the horse... well totally off topic but you might like to know.

Any pics on the rubber? Any one knows if there is anyone out there reproducing it? Also the contact info on the guy reproducing the mouldings would be great. I am traveling to the US on September and right now doing some online shopping of odds and ends I cannot find in Argentina.

Martin, the "steps" are called running boards. Unfortunately I cannot answer the rest of your questions as my 29 U is missing them also, and I need the same information you do.

Hello all!

Anyone has good pic (old or new) or what the step of the side of the car looked like (not sure how you call this in english, it is the side next to the doors that you step on to get on the car). Also what was it covered with, a rubber flooring? and the edges what kind of shape was it? what material?

any help really welcomed.
