I think the TPC means TWO passenger coupe - whereas the "club" coupe had the body code ASC which stood for Auxiliary Seat Coupe....your serial (door post) number tells me it was Detroit built.  In the early days the TPC stood for a rumble seat coupe - why TPC I don't know.....business coupes were simply coded BC and convertible coupes CC.....

The 'TPC' probably means "Three Passenger Coupe"....makes sense if the car is a business coupe.

Thanks Todd, after reading your post I got the number off of the passenger side door jam, my number is 10918660, if I read your website correctly, it was the 35,659th P-10 made for the model year 1940.  I would figure that it was made in late 1939.

What are your thoughs?

The tag on the firewall is the body tag. My guess is you have a P10. I know that on my two door sedan the suffix TDS means "two door sedan" so I am guessing TPC is some sort of coupe.

Look on the (front) passenger side door hinge post for a serial number tag. There will be no letters in the number, only digits. You can look up the serial number at http://www.ply33.com/Misc/vin and see where it was built.

It is a cold rainy day here in the Catskills, (60 Degrees) right now.

So I have been tinkering with my Plymouth and now have a question.

Is the number on the lower oval plate on the firewall the body number?

If so with the number of P10  5161 TPC, can anyone tell me where and when the car was built?
