I would stay with the tried-and-true green "universal" coolant, like Prestone, 50/50 mix with water.

With all the different Antifreeze/coolant products out there- is there a "common"
coolant that is used?? Suggestions?

If you use a sealer on that gasket, you
will have a difficult time removing
the carb in the event there is a problem
with it.
I would use a thin smear of heavy grease on either side of the
gasket which will seal any imperfections on either
surface. If you have to remove the carb, it will come
away from the manifold without damaging the gasket which
then can be re-used.

I have never used gasket sealer on the carburetor gaskets. And while I haven't worked on all that many cars, I have not come across any that have had sealer applied.

Hello Plymouth family-
I am putting a different carb onto my 39-P-8
The car is 100% stock.
In bolting down the carb- should there be a gasket
sealer between the gasket and the manifold and or the carb?
