The reproduction radiator cap I have used a standard cup type core plug. They picked one with an outer diameter that matched the smaller inner diameter of the radiator fill opening, then they modified it by deforming out two areas. Mine is really rusty now but I am attaching a photo to show how they modified the core/expansion plug. If that cup style core plug is available in brass it would probably be easier to modify and less likely to corrode. Maybe something like https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/SEP3819001 could be used. Hmmm. Maybe I'll get one of those plugs and see about making mine a bit less rusty.

Darn it's close.  The kit is cheap enough maybe I'll get it and see if I could figure out a way to make the tangs on the cap a little longer by brazing them or something. I did see on eBay there's a real nice one up for auction the flying lady with the cap and it all looks darn near perfect but it's going for 225$ now and there's still 6 days left. It's really to rich for me but man it's nice to look at!

That is a bit small. Here are a couple of photos from my car.

I talked to the people who sell this kit. They say the opening for the kit to fit us 1.5 inches.  My car is across town in a garage until the snow is gone so I can't check the radiator fill opening to check its diameter but maybe even if it's different I could make this kit work.

Good find. I wonder how close the Ford radiator fill diameter is to that on our Plymouths. I am hoping it is close enough.

A long while back (decades) I saw some radiator cap repair kits in a swap meet. If I recall correctly, they consisted of a gasket, washer like spring and maybe some other bits. I suspect that type of kit would be pretty hard to find today. So I think you may have to make something.

When I get home, I can take the reproduction radiator cap I got about 10 years ago apart and photograph the pieces. If I recall correctly, they modified a cup style core plug to use as part of the setup. The proprietor of that vendor passed away a number of years ago, otherwise I'd recommend you simply go the them.

In any event, I think you may have to create something from scratch.

Hello.  I'm new to this club so if I have posted in the wrong place I apologize. My question is this.
I have a 1933 pd deluxe. The flying lady hood ornament / radiator cap I had was stolen off my car awhile back and I finally found a new flying lady but she's missing the radiator cap assembly. Can someone point me in the right direction on where to get one?  Thanks.
