1941 plymouth motor needs help

Another very likely cause can be a vacuum leak causing a lean mixture.  If the acceleration is normal with the choke pulled out after the engine is warm it's vacuum or lean mixture as a result. Someone else suggested the acceleration pump and that will also cause the problem you describe. Check all the nuts and cap screws that hold the manifolds to the engine, the nuts that attach the carburetor, and that pump. A vacuum gauge will help you ascertain if your problem is vacuum related and also verify that engine timing is correct.

Sounds like the accelerator pump in the carburetor is not functioning properly.

I have seen this mentioned before, but i don't know if on this forum.
In the distributor, when vacuum causes the distributor to advance, is a wire being grounded out
by this rotation ?  Is the distributor timing set correctly ?  Is the vacuum advance working correctly ?

my 1941 plymouth  flat- 6
has had a complete restoration
nothing has been left out  the car runs great if you just give it a little acceleration and slowly press it to the floor
it will go guns a blazing .but if you give it the full acceleration it will start to sputter and chock not giving it any power
again we have turned ever nut and bolt
ffor the carb. to the distributor  Nothing has been left out
can anyone think what is going on
