suggest you look for a corrupted ground.  6V systems depend upon tight and uncorroded connections as they work on current flow.  Also suggest you assure that the wiring to the lamp is of proper gauge and that all oc the connectiona are clean and tight.

As a test you can us a jumper wire to a known clean ground to see if the problem is from the bulb to ground.  You can also jumper to the bulb from the terminal block to test the wires on the power side of the lamp.

My 1939 Plymouth continues to blow headlight bulbs. The bulbs are #2331. The left headlight is the one that continues to blow bulbs. I have lost 6 bulbs. When I turn on my headlights the bulb commence to become dim until it goes completed out. What should I look for to correct this problem? Your help and input would be deeply appreciated.
