Plymouth 1940

Good day,
I'm new on this forum. I love Vintage cars and just got my 1940 Plymouth down to my country home in Nigeria. It has some cosmetic issues which I'm hoping to Fix over there in Africa due to lesser cost of labor. As such, I need help and suggestion with buying and identifying parts.

Will start with the following questions

1. The battery is getting dead as soon as I tried to start (wasn't like this when purchased)
2. Where can I get parts for this car at modest price
3. My Car key was lost during shipment to Africa, How can I replace it
4. Please what's the tire size of Plymouth Coupe  (is this model the same as P10 ?)
5. How can I restore front and sideways  chromes
6. How can I get the rubber trims for the trunk, rear window and front windscreen

Appreciate your help,

Thanks

Some zinc and cadmium platings are yellowish.  It will come off with glass beads and wire wheels--I know from experience.  U may have to soak them in simple green and then use a liguid paint remover.  I have used
dot 3 brake fluid in an aluminum pan covered by saran wrap when the weather is too cold to use the toxic stuff outside.

I am curious also if anyone has information about the painting/ plating of this part. I tried to gently remove the surface mud and corrosion with a bead blaster. It looks like the final surface before getting to steel is brass color. Is it possible this part was brass plated? There is no indication under the heads of the screws or on the back site that is was painted the body color. In fact these areas are the same brass color mentioned above. It is hard to tell though because of the poor surface condition.

:) Hello? can you recognize this part ...? it was on the right front door post toward the hinges? only have this side(right)? It was on before I had the body shop recondition the body.. any chance you know the part #'s and if their is suppose to be one for the other side? ... and if you know where to get 2 nos ones Thanks and Happy PLY-mouthing DANiel..

Yes, Darren, there is one on each front door.  Its a guard, if you will to keep the rubber seal around your door from chaffing.  The ones on my car are still there, but the one on the passenger side is in bad shape.  Rusted off through the years because of the rain hitting them.  I have been thinking of taking the measurements from screw hole to screw hole and making a new one.  Really, not that much of a job if you have someone that can weld.  Hope this helps.     Ping

I have them on my '41 coupe. They are on both sides. Due to the very thin metal, I would not be surprised if they often went missing.

I just spent the last hour looking in the "1936-1942 Plymouth condensed Master Parts List" was unable to find the part under group 23 which is the body.  I went out in the shop, checked my coupe, the passenger side has one, but the driver's side doesn't, but in my case I don't know if that means anything or not when it comes to my car
