Title: Color scheme for brake drum
Post by: pwlovely on July 13, 2020, 08:48:28 PM
1950 Special Deluxe Convertible.

I removed the front brake drums to be turned and find the color of both drums to be dark green. I want to return to new. Can anyone confirm the color?
Is there a printed source for colors of the various parts for the car?

Sorry, no direct help!
There was a color chart in P15-D24 covering most everything, but I couldn´t find it again for now.

I only found this one:

Colors should have remained all the same also for the follwing years.

I've not seen a color specification for the brake drums. On my car I have the chassis and running gear painted black so my brake drums are black too. But I have no idea what they might have been from the factory.

Thanks for the chart.

I'll go with the dark green paint on the drums. Having scraped and scrub, I did not find any other color on the drums other than a white primer, which I've observed on other old cars was a frequently used primer - as opposed to gray.
