I am cleaning a gas tank for a "48". The small pipe goiong from within the tank and connects with the gas line is filled with rust any ideas on cleaning that little pipe.
I have taken 3 tanks to an old time radiator shop where they steam out all the crud, solder pinholes and line them with an epoxy based liner. If the line u mention needs replacing thay can solder in a new one. I think each tank was around $100. Be careful around old tanks-that crud inside can still ignite or even vaporize if u add enuff heat.

You can use high pressure air to clean the pipe.? Some type of snake might also help.? I recently did the tank in my 48 since I couldn't find an old time radiator shop that still did this type of work.? It seems today that replacement is the main business of a modern radiator shop.
