Title: Two Tone or not?
Post by: Bob on March 17, 2007, 05:19:53 PM
These are two photos of my Plymouth shortly after we got it.

I know they aren't the best photos as they are approx 20 years old, but can someone tell if it was two tone or not?

I am under the impression that two tones weren't done until 1941`

Thanks,
Bob

Plymouth did not two tone their cars in 1940.  I would guess from the photos of this car that its had repairs or replacement parts over the years.  Its possible some company may have owned the car at one time and had it two-toned to match their corporate colors but from the factory, it was a solid color.  When you do repaint, remember, there is NO visible fender welting between the fenders and the body.  That, along with two tone paint, came in 1941.
