Title: Headliner job on a 50 club coupe
Post by: Edwin K. on February 17, 2007, 02:49:56 PM
I have begun dismantling to replace the headliner in a club coupe. I have the wiring on order (Rhode Island Wiring) and have the headliner from SMS. I am wondering about the tacking strips. These look like some kind of cardboard composition. The strips will still hold a tack, so I don't know whether to replace just because of age. Does anyone know a source for the strips, about 1/2 inch wide? Also, I would like to use a foam material, thickness unknown at this point, under the headliner. I guess I'm looking for an upholstery supply place who knows our cars.

Try this link:

Look up 'tacking strip' in their search engine and they show a roll of it for $30.
Hope this helps.
