Last month, my friend Tom Siegmund inaugurated his new ?Route 224 Auto Service? and used car trading shop. Yesterday I got the advertisments newspaper with Tom and my Cranbrook shown.
Werden, on River Ruhr?s Lake Baldeney has 1200 years old city rights.Today, it is a part of Essen, the Krupp City. It is ? hour from D?sseldorf by car or commuter train.
The shop is in a former 50-ies Aral brand gas station (partly shown left of the foto) with a twin shed annex plus a 20 + car parking space. You see the bigger shed with KFZ (=Kraftfahrzeug = motorcar) Rep. Werkstatt (=workshop) ?logo on the wall. The ?DEA?- brand sign is not original and will be taken off. Under the pumps roof You see a Karmann Ghia and behind the roof of a 1938 Opel Kadett.
He is an ingenious mechanic and will have to do service plus a major brake drum job on the P23 this winter. He too will supervise the new ragtop job. I wish him good luck in his business.
