Does anybody know what other years are compatable for 1940 for the front crossmember. I have a 1940 car and may be able to get a 1941 replacement for my bad front crossmember. Anybody know if '41 or any other years fit a '40.
Thanks, Steve and Darrien
Steve,
I looked in my 1936/1942 Plymouth Master Parts Book, (copyrighted 1946) to see if I could find any simularity between the earlier and/or later frames.
According to the book, the '39 frame has a part number differnet from the '40 and the '41 has a number differnet from the '40. The book shows a lot of seperate componets for the frame but only shows the front crossmember as being a part of the total frame.
As I recall, the front cross members, springs, etc. look very simular, when I looked up the steering knuckle assy in the parts book I found that the '39 & '40 appear to have the same part number, however, the steering knuckle support has a different number.
So what does all this mean?.... I would say that you need a componet from a '40 Plym.....Bill
