I am in search of original 16 inch MoPar steel wheels, from 1939 1940 or 1941 and I believe 1946 and 47. They should also sport the five "clips" that hold the hubcaps on too.
The ones I currently own are nice, but they are far from true!
One spin on the ol' tire machine and it is very noticable....
Can anyone help?
Or point me in the right direction?
Thanks again!
I don't have any leads for 16", but i do have 5 15". Remember in your search, the safety rim wheel was introduced in 1941. It is an extra shallow rim inside the big rim to help keep the tire on the wheel in the event of sudden deflation. I have those on my 40 PU. even tho it is not specific to the 40.
John.
Thanks for the heads-up on the wheel changes. I was aware of the difference, but, at this point I would go with any 16" set of four I could put my hands on!
The search goes on.......
hi lindsay, i may have four rims and i'm not to far from you. i'll look at the shop tomorrow. if they are not there and i have to look at home it may be a few days before i find them. i've been to your house before with my wife to buy some 41 parts a few years back. we own d$s rod and custom you may have seen us at swap meets in the area.
Hello 53 Plymouth.
Hum, I can not remember you of the top of my head, sorry!
Maybe if you find these wheels and we meet, I will remember. Could also be that it is simply too early in the morning and the coffee has not kicked in!
Thanks for your note, and your efforts looking for the wheels. I'll be looking for your reply.
