Post by: Cory on October 05, 2006, 07:38:45 PM
Hi,
Does anyone know what colors were available for the 30-Us? I would like to use an original color if possible.
Thanks

Tod Fitch has a wonderful web page that will answer most of your questions about your car  http://www.ply33.com/Models/30-U/

Cory, If you are able to attend a 4 cylinder meet, I could bring along my set of 30-U paint samples for you to take a look at.
I an also e-mail you the paint codes, but it may cost a small fortune to have your paint supplier make up sample batches.

Also, you need to know if your 30-U was early or late production. There is a spring 1930 paint set, and a fall 1930 Plymouth paint set.

Thanks for the links and suggestions...My 30-U is an early model, it has the rectangular rear window but there is another hitch. It's a Canadian Plymouth put together in the Windsor plant. The serial number puts it a bit later in the year (9301963) and the Engine number is U86056 which appears to be the older engine from the U model. My Dad isn't surprised as he says they tended to use up what was hanging around in the plants and knows of cases where old Model T Fords came off the assembly line with headlamps from two different suppliers because that was what was grabbed off the shelf...If you were able to email me the paint codes that could be a great start.
