Title: points to elect. ignition
Post by: 6162plymouths on October 02, 2006, 07:23:13 PM
I have a 1961 Belvedere and the previous owner changed over to electronic ignition (somewhat....shade tree at best) Does anyone know of a diagram or procedure (written) that I could use to clean this mess up? I'd like to keep the electronic ign., for performance reasons... 413 reasons ha ha. Really need to clean this up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to think I need to reverse engineer this thing....

Quite often there is a fellow selling NOS Mopar electronic ignitions on ebay. I purchased one for my '63 Chrysler 383. It is as the seller claimed, NOS Mopar, complete in the box with install instructions. When I contacted him via email to make sure the unit would fit my application he told me that he had NOS Mopar ignitions to fit most Mopars.

The price was very fair, just over a hundred dollars which I thought was very good when you concider I got a new distributer plus the rest of the componets.
I can look up the address if you are interested....Bill
