Title: 1939 found
Post by: Hydrive53 on July 20, 2006, 03:28:07 AM
Hi, I work with a guy and his dad has a 1939 2dr Plymouth that has sat for about 19 years and sounds to be compelet but missing the seats. I am ging to go look at it better this week or next because when I was out there last there was so much junk arond that I could not get to the car(it is in side). He has desided to sell now. I have worked on this one for two years now, I can not get it now( working on my 1953 ply) would anyone be intrested in it. If so e-mail me at and I will try to get photos and more info for you. It will need a restoration. Not bad in the rust area from what I could see. not cut up. All original but has had a repaint some time a go( it is a med blue). Don't know what he will want for it at this time. just let me know and I will get the info. would HATE TO SEE THIS ONE GO TO THE RODERS. I would love to have, but I may be moving soon, and have so much now to work with.

Interesting! :o
Where are you, and the car located?
Is it a two door sedan, or a coupe?
Interested in photos too.

Car is near Downers Grove,IL it is a 2dr sedan and I think that it will be the cheaper model. It will be some time before I can get back there, I had a bad car accident on Thurs the 20th. And I will be down a car for some time. I will keep you posted with the photos and on his price. I work with this guy's kid so I know what is going on. RB

I found out today that they pulled the car out and took lots of photos, and are getting it together for sale. The seats are there and only missing the fabric on the doors and seats. I will let you know what go's on with this one. He is moving to slow for me. It drives me nuts. ::) ???

I am still trying to get info on this car. It's a bad thing to see them just sit. They said that they have some photos we will see if that is true.

I just had a real good look at this car today. I would love to get this one for me but I need to get the 1953 back on the road first. It is a roadking 2dr sedan. it is missing the runing boards only!! all of the car is there it still has the original woodgrain on the dash and window frames. seats in not to bad shape. 7410.5 miles on the car, with a rebiuld motor. body # is 116d 19370,? motor# is p24-3141-4 ( could this be a 1952 motor??) it has some rust in the front floor driver area. I could not get to the other side due to I could not get the other side door open, no room to do so. All the trim is there and hub caps, headlite items all there.body in good shape(no rust out) and strate!!!Real good one for a restoration. Man I wish I had more room, and funds for this one!!!!!!! e-mail me at for more info. I am trying to get this guy to put this car at my place for storage this winter & to get it running for him.
