U might try your lacal salvage yard--there are lots of old chry vehicles out there and the starters usually are good.  I cleaned the mud and crud out of mine and took it to an old time generator shop.  They hooked it up to some giant old equipment that looked like the 1930s and it checked out.  Still works fine

In the May issue of the Hemmings, Atlas Obsolete Chrysler Parts advertises Starters and Generators for 1936-74 Chrysler products.


I have my starter at an old time repair shop right now, getting the windings done.
The starter I have in the Plymouth right now is out of a 1951 Dodge truck which was sitting for a  number of years on an old farm not far from here.  Like John, I cleaned it up and the old thing works fine.

I might add--don't use 12 volt battery cables.   U will think it is broke if u do.  I think the correct size is 2 OO but they are as big as your thumb.
