Title: 50 Plymouth Suburban
Post by: RanceO on August 24, 2025, 08:47:59 PM

My '50 Suburban won't start after sitting about a year.   It ran fine when parked but now it appears not to be getting any spark.  There's power to the coil and I dressed the points but it won't fire.   I know its getting gas because I've even poured a little gas down the carb throat.   Can a condenser or coil go bad just by sitting?   I'd sure appreciate any suggestions as to where to look.

Thanks!

I guess the coil or condenser could go bad just sitting but it seems unlikely. Have you pulled the distributor cap and examined the inside. Might be something obvious like an insect nest.
