Title: Horn relay
Post by: Tloud on March 12, 2025, 12:49:05 PM
I have a 1940 p10 business coupe. I have problems with my horn suddenly won't work. The wiring diagram shows no horn relay (no relay in the car also) and the horn use to work. My question is should there be a relay?

I don't think I have a wiring diagram for the 1940 models, but typically they only used a relay for the dual horns option. So most cars came without a horn relay.

Are the horns different without relays or will a horn work either way

I think the main thing is that two horns pull more power than they thought the horn button, etc. could provide. I don't think there would be any issue retrofitting a relay to a car with a single horn.
