Has anyone ever done this? I've searched online (including the DMV website) for many hours to no avail. AAA can't do it. Thanks!
I did it decades ago but I am sure procedures have changed since then.
I'd just make an appointment at the DMV, bring all the paperwork you have and, if possible, have the car there too so they can verify the numbers on it.
