Title: 1933 Transmission Rebuild
Post by: Robert4 on August 22, 2024, 02:27:35 PM
Hey gang,
The transmission in the 33 is developing some troubling noise in 1st and 2nd gears but not so in 3rd. I have an additional transmission that I intend to examine before pulling the original from the car.  My question:  What gearing component would most likely be a shared part for 1st and 2nd, but not 3rd?

1st & 2nd are driven through the countershaft while 3rd is direct and does not send power through the countershaft. Reverse is also driven off the countershaft but through a reversing idler gear.

The countershaft is driven by a gear at the front of the transmission and spins on a bunch of rollers for bearings.
