Title: Timing-1939 P-8
Post by: DENNIS P NOLAN on March 14, 2023, 04:34:31 PM
So...Is there an easy way to time this vehicle?
I go off the 1st cylinder-?
Loosen/rotate the Distributor?

It runs (after I prime the carb) at a high RPM.
When I manually start to close the Butterfly-it runs
at a higher RPM- when I open the butterfly (straight up)-
it starts to stumble and it idles down and has shut itself off.
Everything is new in the engine-(Engine not rebuilt) but....new
Points/Plugs/Wires/condenser/cap/rotor.
I have not timed this motor, and want to venture into that..
As always...thank you all for the help.
