I have a 31 Plymouth PA sedan that is restored, lately in my area there is a 29 Plymouth U sedan for sale (all there, but in quite bad shape) this one is suited for a parts car I'm afraid.
Wondering which drive line components would be usable in my PA ?
I know the intake manifold is smaller as well as the cylinder head. Bore and stroke is also different.
What about the block?
Transmission and differential?

There was a pretty big set of upgrades between the 1929 and 1930 models. Among other things, the engine gained a water pump and mechanical fuel pump. It could be that some of the running gear parts were kept over but you would need to check the parts books.
You might want to find a copy of the 1928-33 Master Parts Book. There used to be and probably still are vendors reprinting it. It is not a very friendly book with very few illustrations and they often used terms that we don't use today (who would call a brake light a "signal lamp"?). But with enough study you can figure out a lot about what the parts should be.
