I would like some help identifying a 37 Plymouth 2 dr sedan slantback, (now a rod) serial 1213305.
Body # 911-10992. All of my research has not produced what I am looking for. first it's a 7 digit serial #. I just want to know more about the body style info. is it a P3 or P4? how many left on the road? Doors do not have wing windows, just 1 large glass etc.
Thank you, KennyG
From my VIN decode and serial number look up tool at https://www.ply33.com/Misc/vin
Serial Number 1213305
Found in range 1184001 to 1237460
Serial 29305 of 53460
Year 1937
Make Plymouth
Model Name Business
Model Code P3
Plant Detroit
Engine 6 cylinder 201.3 cu.in. L-head
Wheelbase 112 inches
This is the lower model "business" version without the fancier stuff in the P4 Deluxe.
Serial numbers were assigned by model number and assembly plant which is how the above information was derived. However there is no encoding regarding body style or trim. A photo will quickly show what the body style was (coupe, two/four door (touring) sedan, etc.).
