Title: PT125 Emergency Brake Noise
Post by: Robert4 on July 05, 2021, 07:41:56 PM
Looking for an education:  When the emergency brake is applied, I hear a "growling" noise of engaged gearing from the transmission that is not present otherwise.  The brake functions and the truck will not roll. When released, the noise is gone.  What within the transmission is taking place?  Thx in advance once again.  Bob from Washington.

I had that in my transmission before it was rebuilt. I think it is a worn rear bearing that gets slightly mis-aligned when the brake band clamps down on the drum.
