I have incredible slop in my steering wheel, almost 3/4 of a turn to get a response at the wheels. Does any body know of a publication that describes the rebuilding of the steering box?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried an old MOTORS MANUAL or CHILTONS REPAIR MANUAL. There is an adjustment screw on top of the steering box. You have to loosen the nut and use a screwdriver to turn in too tighten the gears. You might want to try to u tube it also. Someone out there has had to have the same problem. Just a couple of thoughts.
Your steering box needs adjustment. Its not as easy as adjusting a carb screw. Some understanding is helpful.
Could need worm gear bearing pre-load adjustment or sector gear adjustment. Or even a steering box rebuild. Currently I am rebuilding mine. I plan to reassemble it tomorrow and set it up. You can follow along if you want to learn, by watching my You Tube video series.
