Title: Parts for power bleeder
Post by: my33ply on May 13, 2020, 09:34:34 AM
Does anyone know where I can get a cap for the master cylinder on a P15? I have a power bleeder that I would like to use, but not a cap that will fit my master cylinder. Thanks

my33ply,
Well you could always purchase a new master cylinder, drill out and tap your old master cylinder's cap and use this cap for your power bleeder, then use the new master's
cap on the current master cylinder after bleeding brakes.

Thanks for the reply. I had a friend that had several old master cylinders and I was able to do just that. I made two, so I have a spare.

if You have the spare master cylinder for its original use,
remember the rust problem!
Wen plymouthing pauses for more than a month, I will press the brake pedal 4 or 5 times to wetten the inner surface of the cylinder.
That prevents rusting.
If you store a rebuilt cylinder, it may be a good idea to fill it completely with Your brakefluid and seal it airtight!
