Title: Bad "thunk" in front suspension after rebuild48 PLY
Post by: 48ply1stcar on April 23, 2020, 03:43:54 PM
After I rebuilt the front suspension I have always had a thunk in the front from small dips or bumps.   Recently I greased the front suspension and could not get the inside upper bushings to accept grease.  When I removed the zert the grease looked like grey paste.

This was the first time I had ever tried to rebuild or install front suspension parts.  Obiviously I need to clean and remove the grease.  I have been told the bushings may be to tight causing the "thunk" and not allowing the grease to move through the bushing.

So I have been thinking about backing off the bushings a turn or two to see if that alievates the "thunk".  Also try to push through the grease with a zert cleaner.
