Title: 1939 wiper arm
Post by: Nick Nichols on December 27, 2018, 09:55:08 PM
I have a 39 P7 Business Coupe.  It has the wiper arms that have hooks that fit into the hole in the motors.   I've had the wiper arms on and off several times during a paint job and then again installing the glass.  It seems that they are not as easy to install as they used to be.   Once I do finally install them, there is very little spring tension and the wiper blades blow around when you are driving even at slow speeds.  Am I missing something installing them? Or, have they just worn out from from removing them several times? They are very flimsy arms.  I know Andy Bernbaum sells them so I was just going to get a couple, unless I'm not installing them correctly.  Also, is there some other option that would work better than these?
Any info greatly appreciated!!  Nick

Could be a worn spring or slightly bent arm. Those arms (and blades) are also available at the places that cater to Fords and Chevrolets as they all used Trico as a vendor.
